When I was 16 I was sent to diamond ranch academy in Utah. It changed my life for the worse in many many ways. I want to start by saying this program is the definition of manipulation. The program directors do everything they can do make there website and the parent visits look and seem like a beautiful place that you send your child and magically in 10 months you get him back and he/she is a new transformed person Hahahaha it’s really sad the manipulation this place puts on parents when these parents are already in a rough enough time in there lives and this place takes advantage of that takes advantage of parents who are scared for the worst for three kids, scared they might go to jail or end up dead in a ditch somewhere so diamond ranch tells the parents you need to get help now befor it’s to late they make it look like a loving facility when really it’s al about one thing money.
This is why a boy died at diamond ranch academy all strictly due to the owners greed. This place is not a mental hospital it doesn’t have the kind of care or people there to treat searious mental illness like being suicidal but they also like money and they don’t want to turn down a parent who is gonna give them 60 grand for 10 months so they tell them to send there kid here we will watch him we have a team of professionals when really they have about half a dozen to a dozen therapist that meat with you to talk personally once every other week and the rest of the people are literally college kids watching over your children getting paid basically minimum wage and taking there frustration out on the kids when they have a bad day.
Another example how much this place just likes money to the point where they will put other children’s lives at risk, when I was at diamond ranch a kid was super angry and would freek out and one day he had enough of everything and he went and picked up a huge rock and literally walked up to a staff member and hit him over the head with it and started beating the man to the point where he was bloody and the man has to wrestle the kid to the ground and get the rock from him and it took like 5 staff to how this kid down and you know wat diamond ranch does they call the police have the kid taking to the station for two days to be held in a cell and then diamond ranch realizes they still want that kids money so wat do they do they let this kid come back to this school after doing that because they didn’t want to turn away his parents money even tho that kid better a staff over the head with a huge rock and if he did that to a kid there he could have killed him so the owners here would rather make money then keep another kid safe from an angry kid.
I could literally go on for days about this school it makes me sick to think about how many parents are just down rite manipulated to the bone by this place they really believe this school is best for the child and that’s it’s gonna fix them and they couldn’t be farther from the truth these school make most kids worse cause your around a bunch of bad kids 24 hours a day and your always bored so your always talking about the bad stuff you did at home so a lot of times kids come out worse listening to and being around all these bad kids. When I was there the kids all had a saying we went by called fake it to make it, meaning when you get to the program usually you hate it and don’t want to be ther but you realize when your there that your current behavior isn’t gonna get you anywhere so you decide I’m just gonna act good so I can get out of this program and then once the kids are back home they are more mad at there parent befor for sending them to such a place and the reason the anger comes after you get home from the place is cause you can’t express your real anger when your there cause the place literally has a therapist listening to your phone call with your Parents every single call you have which is only once every two weeks, so if you during your phone call try to tell your parents about the verbal or physical abuse the therapist will hang up your phone call and send you out to the part of the program where it’s for punishment and you get horrible food and have to wake up and do running and work chores.
The owners of this place the Diaz family are the rich manipulaters behind all this they go out and drive there nice little boat on the lake befor they come baby sit your kids for the day and go home to there nice huge houses that they pay for off your family’s misery
